Look mom ... we're passing a crashed airplane!

Just when I was thinking I've seen about everything one can see in terms of stupidity, a new story caught my attention. About a month earlier, one of Tarom's planes (Tarom is the national air transport company from Romania) crashed near the runway while trying to take off from Bucharest's Henri Coanda airport. By some unbelievable miracle and a lucky twist of faith, all the passengers got away, only a few of them having some minor injuries. The cause of the accident? Well...that's an interesting one: while accelerating on the runway in foggy conditions, it hit a car (would you believe that ??!!!) left there by a couple of guys clearing the runway beacons. Just to show this isn't stupid enough, almost one month after the incident, it turns out they forgot about yet another thing: the plane itself.

This image is just incredible. You can see normal airport operations going on around the crashed plane, a few hundred meters from the runway. And just to add to the stupidity of the situation, the reaction of one official from the company was: "who's bothered by that plane" ?

Well, all this sort of changed a bit my "stupidity top 100 list" quite a bit :) It may be because I'm passing by that "monument" at least 5-6 times a week, and I hear some interesting reactions from passengers every time.
